Going by the narratives by the student’s parents students, the labour of negotiations through several weeks was an epic drama mounted on the human emotions and acted by archetypal forces. But then, it ended like a long-endured nightmare, thanks to the intervention of former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, alongside prominent Kadu­na-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi. The bandits released the students to the warm embrace of their parents and guardians on Wednesday, May 5, after 55 horrific days in hellhole.
