ECN DG Participates/ Engages African Leaders At Ethiopia Energy Efficiency Conference

As part of Nigeria’s strategic positioning and commitment to driving sustainable energy solutions for Africa’s future, the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has participated in the opening ceremony of the African Energy Efficiency Conference held  in Ethiopia. Dr. Abdullahi, who was a special guest at the event, participated in critical conversations with senior officials, leading African figures, and the Energy Minister of Kenya, where discussions focused on the central role of energy efficiency in stimulating economic growth and strengthening climate resilience across Africa. The Director General of ECN , also engaged with representatives from the EU, the European Investment Bank, GIZ, the IEA, AFD, and SEforALL.  The engagements explored partnerships, financing pathways, and supportive policy frameworks aimed at expanding Nigeria’s contributions and ensuring meaningful outcomes throughout the conference.

  In recognition of her giant strides, consistently putting hard work and dedication at the centre of her initiatives, Nigeria's Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, has been honoured with a public service Excellent Award. Hajia Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim was conferred with the Award at the 3rd edition of the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS) held at the State House Conference Hall, Abuja. Community Leaders Accuse Australian Mining Executive Of Manipulation In Southern Kaduna

Community leaders in Southern Kaduna have accused Colin Ikin, an Australian mining executive, of manipulation and potentially fraudulent activities in his dealings with local communities. According to the community leaders,  Ikin's company, Atlantic Mining Techniques Limited, has been attempting to operate in the area, but locals have raised concerns about his methods. According to sources, Ikin has been using cash payments to secure local support, while making claims about high-level government connections. "He gave out millions of Naira to buy loyalties from people who were willing to sell," a community leader from Bakin Kogi said. "Some group of elders, a few of them were given 10 million naira in December 2024 by Colin Ikin. That is strange to me."
